About Alison
Alison is a Gold Coast calligrapher who loves to share her passion for calligraphy, art and craft with her local & online community.
Alison has grown up on the Gold Coast, and is now based in the beautiful Nobby’s Beach with her husband & son. She has always been creative. As a child she wanted to be an artist and go to art school. After school she attended Griffith University and graduated with a Bachelor of 3D Design whilst working as a picture framer.
However, as it does, life went down a different path. Alison travelled, worked as an assistant manager of a furniture store and then ended up in an accounting role and had been doing this for over 10 years.
She was always crafty through this time but realised after her son was born that she had lost that real creative spark and still had a strong desire for a creative career. In 2019 Alison went along to a calligraphy workshop for fun…. and was hooked ~ line & sinker. She practiced everyday for hours, took some online workshops and poured through calligraphy books.
Now she loves to share the art of calligraphy with the public at live events & brand activations as well as teach students and create memorable bespoke items for events & gifts.
She loves plants, Australian gins, and has an art supply addiction.
